Julia is bilingual, born in Brazil and educated in the UK from the age of 11. Phillip is English with an academic background in the Portuguese language. During our professional careers we have spent many years living in the UK, Brazil and Latin America.
Julia Spatuzzi Felmanas
Julia Spatuzzi Felmanas has lived in the UK for most of her life. She has a B.A. Hons. in Philosophy from Durham University and a Masters in Public Policy & Public Law. She has over 15 years experience as a translator and interpreter and her main area of specialism is translating academic papers in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
She has an avid interest in social and political issues, particularly in relation to Latin America, Brazil and Lusophone Africa, and is always improving her knowledge by taking university courses and attending academic events. She also has vast experience in translating legal documents.
Julia is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in the UK and SINTRA in Brazil. She also holds the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI-Law Option) and a current Criminal Record Clearance Certificate (UK Criminal Records Bureau, UK).

Phillip Wigan
Phillip Wigan is a graduate in Brazilian Languages and Literature from King’s College, London University and has studied Humanities at post-graduate level at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Brazil.
He is a translator with wide experience across many fields and particularly enjoys working in the areas of journalism, marketing and tourism as well as translating and localising company websites. A consummate writer, he is fluent in Portuguese with an extensive knowledge of Brazilian history, society, culture and language.
